Graphical display is a very important component of all the computers that we're
using; people may not realize that: the general idea seems to be monitors are big,
bulk, dull, and heavy, take up a lot of room...However, are people aware of the
fact that monitors are the primary output media of computers. Without a display,
we'll never know what's going on within the metal case that we just purchased for
100s or 1000s of dollars. Obviously, you cannot work without a display. For this
reason, we picked "graphical displays" ("monitor" seems to be a too general term
which leads to people thinking of a big, bulky object) as our research topic. We
wanted to find out what's all about the "screen" that we're looking at for hours
everyday; and are there any technologies being developed to replace or improve
the one that we currently have?
Here's our findings to our questions that we'd like to share. Enjoy!
